SRX326370: Sequencing for Dolphin-01 Genome by Illumina HiSeq2000 with Insert Size 300bp
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 580M spots, 116G bases, 73.3Gb downloads

Design: Whole genomic DNA extracted from the dolphin sample was sequenced using an Illumina HiSeq2000. The paired-end library of insert size ~300bp was constructed and sequenced.

Study: Cetacea Genome sequencing and assembly
show Abstracthide Abstract
To provide a full genome sequence of the most abundant whale species in the world. It will provide a genetic diversity of the species and will help us understand how whales adapt to environmental stresses. Also, as whales are long-living, the genome comparisons may provide clues to their longevity. Finally, this study will help us figure out the evolution and phylogeny of whale.
Sample: General Sample for Tursiops truncatus of which PGI sample id is Dolphin-01
